The 18th Annual Candlelight Vigil (2006) was held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on Saturday, May 13. Sponsored by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), the event will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial grounds, located at Judiciary Square, on the 400 block of E Street, NW, Washington, DC. A reading of the names newly engraved on the Memorial immediately follows the ceremony. Everyone is welcome to attend; no tickets are required.

Police Unity Tour Arrival Ceremony
2:00 p.m. Since the Police Unity Tour’s inception in 1997, a total of $3.2 million has been raised for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. $2 million of the total donation has been designated towards the Police Unity Tour’s $5 million pledge to support A Matter of Honor: The Campaign to Support the National Law Enforcement Museum. Survivors of an officer killed in the line of duty in 2005 or even during the past two to three years: Information, registration forms, and hotel request forms for National Police Week 2005 activities in Washington, DC, will be mailed to survivors in late January. Follow the instructions and return the forms. You need take no action until then.
